What is it?
A seven-week guided course for understanding what happened, learning practical tools for what comes next, and rebuilding at a pace that gives you room to process.
Full Access includes one new course module each week plus a live 60-minute Q&A with a beEmboldened mentor every Thursday from 12:00–1:00 PM Eastern Time, beginning October 8.
Registration open only through Sunday, October 4
• Course Begins: Monday, October 5
• Final module releases: Monday, November 16

WE WEREN'T PLANNING TO OFFER THIS AGAIN THIS YEAR
But we kept hearing the question: When will the course be available again?
We hadn't planned another guided offering in 2026. As requests continued to come in, we decided to make room for one more seven-week experience—timed so the final module releases before the holiday season gets underway.
If you've been waiting for a structured place to begin—or continue—rebuilding after religious abuse, this is that opportunity.
WHAT is it?
Religious abuse can leave you trying to make sense of far more than the environment you left. Grief, nervous-system responses, boundaries, identity, trust, relationships, and your ability to recognize what is healthy can all be affected.
This foundational seven-week course brings those pieces into a manageable progression. Each week focuses on one area, combining education with practical tools you can consider and apply in your own life.
The course was intentionally recorded with group engagement rather than teaching alone. Alongside Naomi, you'll hear from Jordan, Kelsea, and Zoe—three people with lived experience of high-control religious abuse—whose perspectives make room for more than one story or way of processing.
BONUS: With Full Access...
the recorded course is paired with a LIVE 60-minute Q&A with a
beEmboldened mentor each Thursday from 12:00–1:00 PM (EST), beginning October 8.
When a module raises a question,
you have a place to bring it while that week's material is still fresh.
THE 7-WEEK PATH

Week 1 • October 5
Allowing Grief: The Losses Suffered
Recognize the losses connected with religious abuse and begin making room for grief rather than struggling with the false belief that it is something you should already be “over.”

Week 2 • October 12
Science of Trauma: The Why to the What
Understand more about how trauma can affect the body and why your responses make sense.

Week 3 • October 19
Triggers: Being Patient with Yourself
Learn to recognize signs that you've been triggered and explore tools that can help you return to a calmer state before responding with agency.

Week 4 • October 26
Boundaries: A New Way of Life
Consider boundaries around resources such as time, money, and belongings, along with healthier approaches to boundaries in communication.

Week 5 • November 2
Authentic Self: Finding Your Design
Explore who you are apart from controlling expectations and begin identifying your own preferences, values, and design.

Week 6 • November 9
Trusting Again: The Possibility of Relationships
Re-examine trust in relationships with others and with yourself, and consider patterns that may support safe connection.

Week 7 • November 16
Identifying Healthy Community: The Seemingly Impossible
Develop tools for evaluating individuals and groups for indicators of health and safety.

WHY
weekly?
We don't want to hand you seven modules at once and create another thing to manage.
One module releases each Monday so you can focus on a single area, give yourself time to absorb it, and begin noticing how it connects with your own life. We recommend allowing roughly 2–3 hours during the week for the recorded material, reflection or note-taking if helpful, and initial application of the tools.
Full Access adds the weekly mentor Q&A because questions often emerge after you've had time to sit with what you've learned. Rather than saving those questions for one session at the end, you'll have an opportunity to bring them each week. These live gatherings are intentionally not recorded. We see that as an important part of the experience: protecting confidentiality helps create a more secure environment for those who attend. Because the conversations stay in the room, recordings and makeup Q&A sessions are not available.
WHO
is this for?
This course may be a useful next step if you have experienced spiritual or religious abuse and are trying to understand its impact and rebuild. That may include experiences in a cult, high-control religious group, unhealthy church or ministry environment, or situations where verbal, emotional, sexual, or physical abuse occurred in the name of religion.
It may also be helpful if you have been moving forward for some time but feel stuck in one or more areas of your healing and rebuilding.

WHAT this course is designed to help you do:
-
Identify grief and better understand how to honor it as part of moving forward.
-
Understand how trauma can affect your body and responses.
-
Recognize triggers and practice ways of returning to a calmer state.
-
Develop more practical approaches to boundaries in your resources and communication.
-
Explore your identity apart from controlling expectations.
-
Re-evaluate trust in yourself and in relationships with others.
-
Use clearer indicators when evaluating people and groups for health and safety.
WHO created this course?
Naomi Wright created this course from the intersection of lived experience, professional training, and years of walking alongside people rebuilding after religious abuse.
Naomi is the daughter of a pseudo-Christian cult leader and did not fully understand the environment in which she had been raised until adulthood. Her own rebuilding required her to question what she had been taught, seek accurate information, grieve significant losses, and learn new ways of understanding herself, relationships, faith, and trust.
Her professional work has reinforced the value of one person walking alongside another with care rather than control. The topics in this course are not abstract to her; they were significant in her own rebuilding and continue to arise in beEmboldened's work with survivors.
Naomi holds a Master of Social Work from SUNY Buffalo and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Denver Seminary. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Why
Naomi created it...
“I created this program because I'm not sure how someone journeys forward well without this information and these tools. These topics were pivotal for me, and continue to prove necessary for those we serve at beEmboldened. I was fortunate to be educated in these areas, so I could apply what I was learning professionally to my own life. Not everyone has that alignment, so I wanted to offer an accessible way for others, like me, to become better equipped to heal.”
–Naomi
If you’re not sure you’re ready…
If you've sought support before and been disappointed, hesitation makes sense.
Maybe someone didn't know what to say. Maybe your experience was minimized, wrongly spiritualized, or met with an easy answer before anyone took time to understand. Maybe you felt studied rather than cared for. Experiences like those can make another resource—or another person offering help—feel difficult to trust.
This course does not require you to adopt someone else's timeline or tell your whole story. The recorded material gives you information and tools to consider for yourself. The survivor conversations offer multiple perspectives rather than one prescribed experience. And Full Access gives you a weekly opportunity to ask questions of a beEmboldened mentor as you work through the material.
You can move through the course at your own pace. If you miss a week, the modules you've already received remain available to you for a full year.

Impact Story
Effie & Max
“My husband and I found beEmboldened to be a God-send on our journey toward healing from our very painful experience of being spiritually abused by our ex-pastor during the most difficult time of our life; our daughter's battle with stage 4 cancer and grieving the loss of her life. When we first began this 7- week course we were in a lot of pain from a horrific experience of covert narcissistic spiritual abuse by our ex-pastor. This experience felt enormously hurtful and painful. My husband had been on staff at the church for over 10 years and did not have another ministry opportunity to go to. When the pastor's spiritual abuse continued while mourning our daughter's death, my husband decided to resign anyway. This was a step of faith, and we walked in that faith while praying for God's direction for healing. We soon found beEmboldened and began this course. It was very informative and helpful in our healing journey. We just ended and are feeling much better about our life going forward. We extend our deepest appreciation to everyone at beEmboldened for all your dedication in making this opportunity for our healing possible.”

You are welcome to come and go from week-to-week as you prefer, keeping your camera on or off.
Do I have to attend the weekly Q&A?
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes, a payment plan is available for 2 monthly payments of $175.

Rebuilding After Religious Abuse
You do not have to rebuild
everything at once.
For seven weeks, we'll focus on one piece at a time—with education you can return to, practical tools you can consider in your own life, and weekly access to a beEmboldened mentor when questions arise.
If this feels like a useful next step, we'd be glad to have you join us.
